About Sindhu

Sindhu Blume is a multimedia artist based in Bethesda, MD. Her work translates natural and built environments into perceptive tableaux through found objects and found-object photography, acrylic, and watercolor. Whether depicting it or incorporating it, the natural world in all stages is a key component in her work.
Born in India, Sindhu came to the United States as a child. She attended classes at the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, which was an initiation into seeing and expressing form. Sindhu is a former journalist and her work has appeared in the Gazette Newspapers, the Washington Post, the Austin-American Statesman, and National Public Radio.
Sindhu is currently curating a portfolio of watercolor and photography works created while recovering from breast cancer surgery.
