While chaotic in appearance, BURST 1 is about a ground shift and acknowledgement of that shift. Within a contained space, the chards move in formation as the ground shifts. 

 

BURST 1 was completed following a “neighborhood” series made of painted pieces of paper, cut in squares, triangles, and rectangles. The same process is used to make BURST 1, but the paper is cut into chards.
